I hope everyone's car is running smoothly and efficiently and that
you are learning what you need to know to keep it that way. As you
know, we get tons of reader mail with questions, problems,
suggestions, and comments. We are blessed to be able to help
thousands of car owners each year, but it is still nice to get
letters like this one: (ya'll are sooo nice to me!)

 
"How are you doing?  Hope your fine. I would simply like to thank
you because visiting this site has helped me a lot. My car wasn't
starting so I got a friend who's a mechanic to take a look. He
checked the battery and everything was fine, then he said the
problem is with the starter. He said it will cost me $60 dollars
for a starter and $100 dollars for the service.

 
For some reason those numbers just seemed too high so I went
online. I found your Website and read the excerpt on different

reasons why a car won't start. I discovered the wire from the

battery to the starter was in very bad shape and the starter wasn't

getting the current.

 

So I got another friend to change the wire and everything is fine now.
So thanks for helping me save $160 which is 10x's more for a
college student.

Moral to the story is - even the "experts" can be wrong sometimes.

My wife called me from the freeway this morning to tell me about a
billboard that just caught her eye...a beautiful convertible with the
caption "Are You on The List?" There was a Saturn logo and the date
the car is scheduled to hit the lots.

 

We're not in the market for a convertible (not compatible with two car seats!), but she thought
that surely our readers would be interested in this beautiful new
car.

Wow....the 2006 Cadillac XLR....have you seen it? I've been doing
