Money to your ears - A great FREE investing resource for you

January 31, 2016

Hi fellow Fools -

It's earnings season. Let the madness begin!

On Tuesday night, Apple reported the most profitable quarter ever and dropped 6.6% the next day.

One small company I own reported earnings Wednesday night and promptly dropped 6% in after-hours trading. When I checked my stock portfolio in the middle of the next day, it was suddenly up 15%!

If the pops, drops, and overreactions during earnings season leave you bewildered, you're not alone.

How to find sanity

When I talk with friends and family about the market, they often describe stock movements during earnings season as their greatest source of confusion.

Even outside earnings season, stocks can go haywire with little explanation. We've all suffered together through the past month together.

So, I wanted to share the recommendation I give to friends and family on how they can stay connected to financial news on a daily basis... but, have a source of news and analysis with a long-term focus that looks beyond the overreactions and panics of the day.

I tell them to download the one piece of "binge-worthy financial information" I don't miss on a daily basis.

Introducing: The Motley Fool's NEW podcast center

Every weekday, The Motley Fool produces award-winning podcasts to fit the needs of any investor. The best part? We just created a NEW podcast center that makes listening to recent episodes (or subscribing) easier than ever.

For example, Market Foolery is released every day the market is open and offers analysis from the Fool's best investing minds.

Instead of looking through dry financial press releases trying to figure out why the market cares so much about a company missing its expected earnings by a penny per share... You'll get analysis about the long-term trends affecting companies.

You know, the stuff that actually determines if the stock has the potential to build your wealth over the long run.

And the best part is, we offer a suite of different podcasts. I've put a link to each of our podcasts with a brief description below.

Market Foolery
Are you an investing news junkie? If so, we've got you covered. Market Foolery is the "binge-worthy" financial information I teased earlier. It's how I personally pass the time on my drive home, every day.

Motley Fool Money
A comprehensive look at the week's financial news published every Friday. In addition, the show hosts weekly guests from across the finance world. (If you're a fan of radio, this show also is heard on 35 radio stations across the country.)

Motley Fool Answers
A personal finance-centric show that talks about financial planning, spending, and saving in a jargon-free way (It's also hilarious... I promise!). If you're looking to make smart money moves, this show has you covered.

Rule Breaker Investing
David Gardner, cofounder of The Motley Fool, is among the most respected and trusted sources on investing. And he's also the host of Rule Breaker Investing, in which he shares his insights into today's most innovative and disruptive companies ... and how to profit from them.

Industry Focus
Are you a value investor sniffing around the energy space for deals? Or a growth investor who devours tech news? Industry focus is a podcast that takes deep dives into industries like healthcare, energy, and technology across the week.

Binge your own way

I think it's safe to say that whether you're a beginning investor or someone who lives and breathes the market... There's something for everyone in our Podcast Center.

And remember, you can check back in daily and listen directly off our podcast center... Or, you can subscribe and have new episodes delivered to your mobile devices for listening on the go.

Give it a try. You're going to learn something that could help your financial situation, and you'll probably enjoy yourself while you do.

Until next week,

Fool on,
Eric Bleeker, CFA

P.S. If you're looking down that lists of Podcasts and thinking... I wish there were something to help me get started investing... we're pleased to offer The Motley Fool Guide to Investing for Beginners. The guide used to be only available for purchase (with reviews like "Simple, straight to the point tips and suggestions for a beginner investor!" it's been a best-seller), but we've made it available to download for free for readers like you. Grab your copy today!
